The library of the Balassi Institute is open to the public in opening hours. In line with the profile of the Institute, it is a library which specialises in Hungarian language and culture. It houses books from the fields of Hungarology, linguistics and applied linguistics, plus minority issues (specifically Hungarians living outside Hungary in neighbouring countries). On top of this, the nearly fifty thousand-strong library has the most important encyclopedias dealing with Hungarian culture and history, as well as handbooks, works of fiction, dictionaries and periodicals, also specialised ones.
The Hungarology specialised library has a sub-library in the building of the Márton Áron Specialised College in Kunigunda Street (other library deposit units can be found in the buildings of the College in Debrecen, Pécs and Szeged).
The Library of the Isntitute is open to the public in opening hours.
