In cooperation with the Budapest Jazz Club, the National Cultural Foundation of Hungary, the Hungarian Cultural Centre in London, the Harmónia Műhely Alapítvány proudly presents:
Budapest-based Cuban singer Elsa Valle in London concert
Elsa Valle, the fiery Cuban songstress has been living in Budapest for 16 years. Coming from a famous musical dynasty (her brother, Ramon Valle is a pianist of international repute, her cousin, Orlando Valle was the much featured flautist of the legendary Cuban band, Irakere), she first made her name in her native Cuba at the prestigious Boleros De Oro festival. During a long and immensely successful European tour she made her home in Hungary, where she has been practicing and teaching her art ever since. Her Hungarian band, Elsa Valle & The Latin Jazz Syndicate is a hand-picked all-star formation containing the cream of Hungary's jazzmen. She is an astonishingly accomplished, incredibly energetic singer who has lost none of the passion of her homeland. When she presented live the material of her first album at the Fono Music House, people were practically hanging from the rafters, all the chairs had to be cleared from the hall and there was still no room for those who wanted to dance ... and there were many. Elsa's Cuban fire will be kindled by a fantastic quartet recruited from the the top Latin jazz fusion bands in London, comprising keyboard man Dave Oliver (Manteca), Uruguayan Andres Lafone on bass guitar (Snowboy, Negrocan), the London based Cuban percussionist, Flavio Correa (Sugar Kings) and drummer Tristan Banks (Alex Wilson, Da Lata).
