Pál Hatos – Attila Novák: Between Minority and Majority (e-book)
On May 4-6, 2011 in cooperation with historians from Hungary and Israel, the Balassi Institute organized a conference entitled “Between Minority and Majority” on the history of the Hungarian and Jewish diaspora and the shifting mean-ings of notions of Hungarian and Jewish identity.
This book contains essays based on the presentations given at the conference.
Hungarian Heritage: Roots to Revival
In the summer of 2013, Hungary was the guest of honor for 10 days at one of the largest outdoor events in the United States, the annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival.
This book commemorates the festival. It provides a glance into the details, preparations, organizing process, decisionmaking, concepts, the complexity of the task, and our teamwork.

A national institute established to support the worldwide community of Hungarian education, the Balassi Institute Balassi Institute plays a key role in the professional direction of cultural affairs. Its main objective is to project a quality-oriented image of our nation, thereby increasing Hungary’s prestige in the international sphere, while strengthening and preserving all facets of Hungarian culture both within and outside of Hungary’s borders. The Institute not only spreads and promotes Hungarian culture abroad, it also introduces the traditions and cultures preserved by Hungarians from outside our borders to those living in Hungary today. The Institute’s uniqueness therefore lies in the content and scope of its activities as well as in the methodology used to reach its goals.
Inspired by Hungarian Poetry - British Poets in Conversation with Attila József (e-book)
The Balassi Institute Hungarian Cultural Centre London made this book in celebration of the Hungarian Culture Day on 22 January 2013. To mark this special event, the Balassi Institute Hungarian Cultural Centre London invited British poets to contribute to this book with a poem of their own written in response to the poems of the Hungarian poet Attila József.
